First of all...over 1,000 hits to my blog!
WOOT!!
Many thanks to all of you who have been reading and enjoying my many thoughts, ramblings and rants! I never thought I'd get so many hits to this blog when I first started it, so many many to all of you! You're all awesome! ;D
And now to the main points of my post :)
Well, here we are a few days before Comic-Con, and I have to say that I'm fairly pleased with myself.
My Supergirl costume fits now!
While I'm still not at my target weight yet, I can at least wear my costume without feeling like a complete and total fat-ass. Yay for me! Hooray and haroo!! *happy dance*
However...
With things being so financially tight, we've had to budget for Comic-Con like you would not believe. We budgeted for food, lodging and a few souvenirs. What we did not budget for was a blond wig and dancer's tights (the perfect kind of tights for such an outfit). So, all of that being said, I will not be cosplaying at Comic-Con. But that's alright. I'll just wear my Yoda shirt, and everything will be just fine!
There's always next year for cosplaying!
And besides...by next year, my costume will fit even BETTER!
In any case, all that matters at this moment is that I'm FINALLY going to Comic-Con for the first time in my life! FINALLY, I will be amongst my fellow geeks in Nerdvana!!
Having come fully into my geekiness later than most geeks my age, I've never before been to Comic-Con. Sure, I've been to Anime Expo several times in the past due to my love of anime. It was always fun for me, and cosplaying was always a blast. Seriously...what's better than having people asking to have pictures taken with you or asking you to pose for photos because you happen to be dressed like their favorite characters? The better the costume, the more attention you got.
But in comparison to Comic-Con, the Anime Expo is small potatoes.
There is so much more to do and see at Comic-Con, and to FINALLY be able to go after all this time is so very awesome. When I think about the sheer amount of comic books, memorabilia and all other things geek that I'm going to be surrounded with...I start bouncing and squeeing with excitement!
SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
Though we'll only be going for one day, I plan on making EVERY moment count! What does that mean? That means me snatching up EVERY piece of TMNT memorabilia that my pocket money will allow! So...all of that being said...
Comic-Con....HERE I COME!!!!!!
And as my final say on the matter...
SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!! :D
